Abstract | In this paper, the analysis and design of an active class-E resonant regulated wireless power transfer (WPT) receiver with phase-shift controlled output regulation is presented. This WPT receiver uses only one power semiconductor device. The output regulation is achieved via the control of the phase difference between the rectifier's input current and input voltage. To facilitate the phase-shift control, the rectifier is designed to have a relatively constant AC input voltage waveform, which is independent of changes of phase difference and operating load. This design also enables a wide- load-range soft-switching operation. A prototype of the WPT system, including a full-bridge transmitter, WPT coils with series-to-series compensation, and the active class-E resonant regulated receiver, is constructed for verification. Experimental results validated the effectiveness of the class-E resonant regulated receiver in achieving AC-DC rectification and good output regulation against the line and load variations. |
