AbstractIn the early 2000s, a new resin-based root canal filling material, so-called Resilon, was developed and marketed with a view to overcoming the limitations of gutta-percha material in achieving an effective seal. In this review article, the properties of Resilon as a root canal filling material are discussed. It seems that Resilon may be a suitable alternative to gutta-percha for root canal obturation. However, both the predictability and reliability of its bonding to dentin (as advertised) still have much room for improvement.
