AbstractThe supramolecular host molecule N,N′,N′-tris(ruthenocenylmethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane perchlorate [LH] ClO4 was prepared and its molecular structure was determined by single crystal X-ray analysis. The guest proton was localized on one of the aza atoms of the macrocycle (N--H : 0.71 Å). Cyclic voltammetric measurement displays in irreversible oxidation wave at 0.84 V and is attributable to the oxidation of RuII to RuIII of the appended metallocenes.
