AbstractWe present some analytical formulae for the radiation emitted by a relativistic charged particle moving in a curved spiral trajectory. This, newly considered, mechanism can in general differ significantly from conventional synchrotron and curvature radiation mechanisms. Polarization measurements may prove to be a good method to differentiate this mechanism from the other two mechanisms. © 1995.
