Objectives
(1) To develop a set of indicators to characterise suspicious illegal dumping behavior using mixed methods research including literature review, interviews, archival analyses and field observations; (2) To develop an analytical model by applying these indicators and big data analytics (e.g. artificial neural networks or a decision tree); (3) To train, calibrate, and evaluate the analytical model by trying out different data analytics and using more data; and (4) To formulate evidence-based policy recommendations for combatting illegal dumping in Hong Kong.
