Objectives
(1) To assess the current disease burden, medication utilisation pattern, unmet needs in the use of innovative medicines, using territory-wide electronic medical records (real-world data) (Work Package 1).(2) To project the population-specific 10-year disease burden and care needs among Hong Kong population, using real-world data-based disease simulation modelling (Work Package 2).(3) To evaluate the cost-effectiveness, return-on-investment, and budget impact of introducing innovative medicine versus standard care, using global and local-evidence-based decision-analytic modelling (Work Package 3).(4) To establish a living pipeline of global innovative treatments and their prioritisation criterion for chronic disease management that will allow the dynamic identification of local unmet needs and preparedness of the healthcare system (overall objective).
