Prof. Wang's main research interests are bioinformatics and computational genomics. Currently, his team focuses on three areas: 1) Develop AI/informatics methods to predict promoters, enhancers, and to infer regulatory networks/modules from high-throughput (single-cell) OMICs data. 2) Develop methods, databases and web servers to analyze, interpret genomic, transcriptomic and epigenetic data generated from next-generation sequencing platforms. 3) Develop (generative) AI methods and LLM (large language models) for drug discovery, multi-omics data integration, drug-protein interaction, and immunotherapy.

Prof. Wang and his team are also actively collaborating with local and international researchers in applying bioinformatics for biomedical discovery, and welcome new collaborations that answer significant biological questions or advance methodology development.
