Professor Lam, Pui Kin 林沛堅
Dr. Rex Lam is a Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine Practice. He was the inaugural Chair of Speciality of 24-hour Outpatient and Emergency Department of Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital from 2017 to 2022. Before joining The University of Hong Kong (HKU), he was the Deputy Service Director of the Hong Kong East Cluster Quality and Safety Office of the Hospital Authority .
A practicing emergency physician and medical teacher, Rex has a strong interest in clinical toxicology, management of medical emergencies and disaster response. In 2015, he collaborated with the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in conducting a multi-sectoral territory-wide scoping study on disaster preparedness of Hong Kong. He was the course coordinator of the Master of Public Health Module CMED 6231 Emergency Medicine for Disaster and Humanitarian Crises Responders in HKU. In 2022, Rex was awarded the inaugural Clinical Service Excellence Award by the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medince.
