Professor Yu, Ollie Yiru 余逸如
Professor YU Yiru, Ollie is the Assistant Dean (Knowledge Exchange and Development) and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, HKU. She is a Fellow in Dental Surgery of Royal College of Surgeon of Glasgow (FDS RCPSG) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed international journals. Professor Yu’s team has presented more than 40 studies at international conferences and received multiple prestige awards such as IADR Colgate Research in Prevention Travel Award, IADR Cariology Research Group Award, AAPD Outstanding Researcher Award, IADR-SEA Research Category Award, and SEAADE Innovation award. As a principal investigator, Professor Yu has been granted more than 4 million in research funds. She serves as Assistant Specialty Chief Editor of Frontiers in Oral Health, and is an editorial board member of BMC Oral Health and Scientific Reports. She also serves as the treasurer and a council member of the Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong. She has been invited to deliver lectures and workshops at over 20 international and regional conferences. Prof Yu’s clinical and research interest are centered on Cariology and Restorative Dentistry, with a particular focus on caries microbiome, detection, prevention and management of dental caries, and prevention and management of dental erosion.
