Prof. Shan is dedicated to advancing orthodontic knowledge through her work in education, research, and clinical practice. Her research has secured multiple external and internal grants, including the prestigious General Research Fund from the Research Grant Council. As an invited reviewer for over ten high-impact SCI journals, Prof. Shan's research interests span digital orthodontics, laser therapy, and periodontal tissue regeneration. Her contributions to the field have garnered recognition through publications in reputable journals and multiple awards from the International Association of Dental Research. Prior to joining the faculty, Prof. Shan was awarded the HKPFS during her PhD studies at HKU. With more than a decade of practice in Hong Kong and mainland China, she has honed extensive clinical expertise in various orthodontic techniques, including lingual appliances and clear aligners. Prof. Shan cherishes the opportunity to contribute to the public oral health, consistently striving to expand the boundaries of orthodontics.
