Dr Chen, Chen 陳晨
Dr Chen Chen is a research assistant professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at The University of Hong Kong. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the same department and a visiting research fellow in the Department of Engineering at The University of Cambridge. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Renmin University of China. Her research focuses on urban resource management and environmental sustainability, with an emphasis on modelling the emissions of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus, as well as their environmental effects in urban areas, and developing technical and management strategies for pollution mitigation. She takes an interdisciplinary approach, leveraging methods in material flow analysis, geospatial modelling, multi-objective optimization, spatial econometrics, and machine learning. She is also interested in developing AI-driven optimization tools in key sectors such as waste treatment to achieve smart environmental management.
