AbstractAn accurate method for calculating the capacitance between parallel spiral planar windings including fringing effects is proposed. The capacitance equation provides a fast numerical tool for capacitance calculation of planar coreless transformers. Practical measurements match well with the theoretical calculations for a range of samples. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2007.
