AbstractThis paper proposes an approach to chaotify a practical induction motor drive system in which field-oriented control is adopted. The key is to tune the gain of the compensator for the compensation of the increase of rotor resistance due to prolonged operation. Hence, the occurrence of chaotic motion becomes controllable when the drive system is under a periodic speed command. The validity of the proposed chaotification is verified by both computer simulation and experimental measurement.
