AbstractA technique is presented that uses a single composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL) unit cell to design n-bit digital phase shifters with small sizes, high power-handling capacities, low insertion losses, and arbitrary phase-shift ranges and step sizes. A 3-bit phase shifter with an operating frequency band of 9-10GHz has been designed and fabricated for study. © 2010 The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
