AbstractA framework in which a variety of problems regarding scattering can be solved is presented. The scattered field due to an obliquely incident wave on an inhomogeneous bianisotropic scatterer immersed in a chiral background is computed using only the two axial components of the Beltrami fields. Volume integral equations (VI) are derived in terms of only the two axial components of the Beltrami fields. These equations are then solved using the conventional Method of Moments (MoM) algorithm. To further increase the applicability of this approach, the fast multipole method (FMM) is applied to accelerate the MoM based solutions.
