AbstractA 1D reconstruction algorithm from induction logging data is developed based on distorted Born iterative method (DBIM) which usually takes seven to ten iterations to achieve accurate results. The small regularization term λ is carefully chosen to avoid excessive changes of boundary locations in the first several iterations and set to zero in the last several iterations to improve accuracy. The algorithm will give a spurious profile when very thin beds are encountered.
