Abstract | The paper explores the potential of personal learning environments (PLEs) to enhance students learning engagement. PLEs are learning environments that enable learners to take full control of their learning process by offering a wide range of tools for manipulating resources, social interaction and knowledge construction Based on two case studies conducted in two university classes, it discusses the construction of PLEs to enhance learning engagement from both technological and pedagogical perspectives. The results of the study suggested that contemporary technology offers promising opportunities to design and implement PLEs, although there are still many issues needed to be solved. |
