AbstractUsing Drama in Education is diversified. Teachers guide student to think, analysis and discuss from different perspective through a variety of activities. Some scholars stated that drama activities have a positive impact on students’ language learning. It can also enhance students’ reading motivation and comprehension. This study is an action research. To investigate whether using Drama in Education can enhance students’ reading motivation and comprehension, researcher integrates “Hot Seating”, one of the drama conventions, in Secondary One students’ Chinese language lessons. From two reading questionnaires, reading tests, interview and teaching journal, researcher found that using Drama in Education can indeed enhance students’ reading motivation. And it can effectively enhance students’ higher order thinking reading ability. Students expressed that they like drama-driven lessons and also have a positive view on “Hot Seating”. 戲劇教學是一個多元化的教學模式。教師引導學生透過不同的活動,從不同的角度思考、分析、討論,與文本作進一步的交流。學者指出戲劇活動對學生的語文學習有正面的影響,能提升學生的閱讀動機及能力。 本研究是一項行動研究。研究員於中一學生的中文閱讀課融入戲劇習式-「提問角色」,從而檢視戲劇教學對提升學生閱讀動機及能力的成效。從兩次的閱讀問卷、閱讀能力測驗、訪談及教學反思中,研究員發現戲劇教學能提升學生的閱讀動機,而對於提升學生高階閱讀思考能力的效果更為顯著。學生更表示喜歡以戲劇活動為主導的中文閱讀課,對「提問角色」更是有正面的感覺。
