AbstractTeachers who teach non-Chinese speaking students to learn Chinese as a second language found it difficult to develop their reading and writing ability. This paper reports an action research study which applied Reading to Learn (R2L) strategy to develop these students' reading and writing ability. Research findings indicate that R2L can help to enhance these students' learning motivation, being more concentrate in the class, as well as effectively enhance their reading and writing performance.
