AbstractThis paper presents the findings of an intervention study on professional development programme for content subject teachers in EMI schools in Hong Kong. Tracking the development of the teacher participants’ beliefs, language awareness and pedagogical practices, the study shows the effectiveness of the 6-month programme, which combined workshops and on-site support. Yet, the development of individual teachers varied according to factors such as personal experience, background and school contexts.
