AbstractA compact multiband antenna for LTE mobile phone applications is presented. The antenna consists of three meander monopoles and occupies a very small volume of only 8×25.5×5 mm3. By using different resonant modes these three monopoles, the antenna can generate four resonant frequencies to cover the GSM850 (824–894MHz), GSM900 (880–960MHz), DCS (1710–1880MHz), PCS (1850–1990MHz), UMTS (1920–2170MHz), LTE2300 (2300–2400MHz) and LTE2500 (2500–2690MHz) bands. Simulation is used to study and design the antenna.
