AbstractThis research showed that individualizing moral foundations moderated the relationship between chronic ostracism and dishonesty. The positive association between chronic ostracism and dishonesty was only observed among participants who did not endorse these foundations. These findings highlight the role of chronic ostracism and moral foundations in predicting people’s dishonest intention.
