AbstractThree studies, with participants from diverse populations, found that people with lower social class hypocritically judged others more harshly than themselves, while the upper-class individuals did not. Studies 2 and 3 manipulated social justice perception, and further showed that lower-class individuals were hypocritical only when they perceived low justice.
