Abstract | What is the future of Asia? This lecture provides an overview of major political and economic challenges in Asia since the end of the Cold War, introduces key policy debates on issues such as U.S.-China relations, inter-Korean relations, and Japan’s normalization, and ends by discussing possible future paths of Asia. Students will learn a variety of analytical concepts and frameworks to make sense of what strategic opportunities and constraints Asia faces as a region, and how they inform its political and economic dynamics. |
