AbstractCross-border innovation is the key organizational activities for multinational corporates (MNCs) to value creation and pursue the knowledge-generating capabilities. The increasingly contextual complexity in the host country embedded by foreign affiliates creates greater challenge and opportunities for the innovative activities of foreign affiliates outside their home region. Using China's Industrial Enterprise Database, this study is going to exam how geographical agglomeration contexts and geographical institutional contexts affect the cross-border innovation of MNCs of foreign subsidiaries within the host country.
