Abstract | This co-authored reflective essay is a collaborative exploration of a university teacher educator’s (Benjamin) and a first-year English language teacher’s (Melanie) mentoring partnership from August 2018-January 2019. It explores our collective attempt to build a partnership less like the traditional ‘unidirectional oversight and guidance’ normally associated with mentoring and more of a reciprocal partnership in which both of us would gain (Cook-Sather, 2016, p.1). |
