AbstractEducational assessments developed using unidimensional item response theory framework have been retrofitted with cognitive diagnosis models to generate more diagnostic feedback. However, it remains unclear how the two disparate psychometric frameworks can be simultaneously used to analyze the same assessment data. This paper proposes a unifying framework for such applications.
