AbstractIn mathematics education digital technologies have affected not only what to teach but also how to teach. With the various reforms in place in the Hong Kong curriculum, how have teachers’ practices in mathematics classrooms changed? How may students view their mathematics lessons when IT was used? The new project aims to investigate the changes in mathematics teachers’ teaching and students’ perception of their mathematics lessons via a cross-era comparison in the context of Hong Kong secondary mathematics classrooms. A few snapshots of the mathematics lessons and students’ perception will be presented to facilitate the rethinking of the potential and concerns in employing technology in mathematics lessons.
