AbstractThe Hong Kong Literature Database (HKLD), launched by the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library, is the first database on Hong Kong Literature. Previous research papers have examined historical and technical issues of HKLD. This article focuses on how researchers make use of HKLD which serves as a one-stop information platform for researchers, and with qualitative data, this paper also examines how users fulfill their information needs and view information seeking experience. Finally, this article evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of HKLD, and thus suggests possible further enhancements, including user-driven approach of the database development, application of digital humanities, and more outreach and promotion of HKLD.
