Abstract | This inquiry is about the implemental relationship between creative writing in Chinese and
dramatic improvised activities. Based on theories of creative writing the researcher constructs two
theoretical frameworks: “CAST System” and “Story Action System”. By applying theories of
dramatic improvisation with the “CAST System”, the researcher designed an experimental
facilitating plan for implementing creative writing through dramatic improvisation: eight
participants wrote their own story named “Story version zero” (Story v.0) based on life experiences,
then they developed Story v.0 into Story v.1 by making use of “Story Action System”, and finally
they turned their Story v.1 into Story v.2 based on the experiences and inspirations from the related
dramatic improvised activities.
For the purpose of inquiring how dramatic improvisation affects a writer’s creative writing state
and his/her creative works, the writing process as well as the in-depth interviews of the participants
were analysed in details through the research method of instrumental case study, and the content of
Story v.1 and Story v.2 would be examined through the research method of narrative inquiry.
The research results revealed that by applying dramatic improvisation as a processing tool of
creative writing, a writer can be encouraged to maintain an honest writing attitude; to grasp the
concept of using “action” as a starting point as well as a working direction for creative writing; to
understand that improvised activities can produce a beneficial effect in terms of “putting writers’
head together” and to aware the importance of writer’s personal cultivation (general research). The
researcher improved the experimental workshop plan into a systematic procedure of creative writing
working with dramatic improvised activities on the basis of the research results.
本研究旨在探討實踐中文創意寫作與進行即興戲劇活動之間的關係。研究員根據創意
寫作理論建構了兩個理論架構:「CAST系統」及「故事行動系統」。研究員以「CAST系
統」配合即興戲劇理論,設計了一個以即興戲劇主導的創意寫作實踐流程。參與研究的八
位寫作者先以自身經歷寫成「故事零」,並運用「故事行動系統」加工而成「故事一」,
繼而參考即興戲劇活動的啟發改寫成「故事二」。研究過程中以「工具型個案研究」方法
仔細分析創意寫作的實踐過程、剖析深度訪談;並以「敘事探究」研究法審視「故事一」
及「故事二」的內容,以探究即興戲劇活動對寫作者之創作狀態及創意作品的影響。
研究結果顯示,引入即興戲劇作為創意寫作的過程工具,有助培養寫作者保持坦誠的
創作態度、掌握以「行動」作為創作起步及實踐方向、了解即興戲劇如何能夠做到真正的
集思廣益,以及寫作者個人修為(總體研究)的重要性。最後,研究員就研究結果把原先
試驗性質的創意寫作工作坊流程加以改良,建構出一套以即興戲劇為主導、系統化的創意
寫作實踐方案。
