AbstractDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, spreading fake news and misinformation in society can cause more problems than usual. It may lead people to make wrong decisions, causing further spreading of the disease to others. This may result in outbreaks and shut down of the economy. However, experts have already pointed out that political misinformation and health misinformation are entangled as some people would challenge those canon ideas on health information fueled by political agendas. Therefore, we review recent research on misinformation and fake news related to health and political areas to help understand this misinformation “infodemic.”
