AbstractFor very good reasons, there are significant interests in applying nonlinear control to dual-active-bridge (DAB) DC-DC converters. This paper presents a sliding-mode-based direct power controller for the power flow control of DAB converters. The proposed scheme exploits both the advantages of sliding-mode control and direct power control, thus leading to accurate reference tracking, fast dynamic response, large-signal stability, and high robustness against line and load disturbance. The design procedure of this controller is provided. Both simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the performances. Compared to the existing control schemes, the proposed controller exhibits better performance. The line and load regulation are 0.25% and 0.4% of the nominal output voltage, respectively.
