Conference Paper: Designing measurement for analytical thinking in discerning fake news in social media context

TitleDesigning measurement for analytical thinking in discerning fake news in social media context
Authors
Issue Date10-Jun-2025
Abstract

The study describes the design and evaluation of a measurement for analytical thinking to judge news credibility in simulated social media contexts. With responses from 94 university students, we generated Kernel density estimation plots and regression models to evaluate the construct validity of the instrument. We conclude by discussing further instrument revisions and the complexity of analytical thinking in social media contexts.
