AbstractDynamic behavior of a double-tapered-waveguide (DTWG) distributed feedback (DFB) semiconductor laser is analyzed theoretically. It is found that the relaxation oscillation frequency can he enhanced by the DTWG structure especially for DFB lasers with large coupling-length product.
