AbstractThis article is a sequel to an earlier one in this Journal on the Devil's Peak Redoubt, and the Gough Battery, at the site on 196m of Devil's Peak. It presents the key land and building survey findings of an excavation project that covers the existing physical state of the Pottinger Battery at the foot of Devil’s Peak, and its ancillary structures. Funded by the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust, the excavation began in May and finished in June 2006. The project exposed the profile of the buried gun emplacement to allow for a detailed on-site land survey documentary film and model-making activities to be carried out by the authors and their team.
