AbstractOzone is conventionally generated in air by the high voltage corona discharge method, which is energy intensive and may generate NOx byproducts. A discussion on covers developments in electrochemical technology with a multiple cell stack designed to produce ozone > 0.1 g/hr per membrane electrode assembly; effects of flow rate, operating voltage, and current on current efficiency, concentrations of dissolved, and gaseous ozone; and current efficiency. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2007 AIChE Annual Meeting (Salt Lake City, UT 11/4-9/2007).
