Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for wireless purchase of merchandise from an automatic vending machine by using a portable mobile phone. SOLUTION: This invention permits the user of the portable mobile phone to dial a sequence of codes to invoke the automatic vending machine to dispense merchandise, where payment is charged to the account of the portable mobile phone. The invention also relates to the apparatus and the method for online inventory management. With the online inventory management, the invention provides highly efficient operations, reduced operation costs, and just-in-time service and merchandise delivery. The invention further relates to the apparatus and the method that allow both online inventory management and wireless purchase of the merchandise in the automatic vending machine.
