AbstractWireless technologies enable a mobile device to connect and access resources available in the environment, enabling pervasive multimedia. In this paper we first introduce a Bluetooth Jini Profile which allows Bluetooth devices to integrate with and discover service in a Jini environment. Then a peer-to-peer architecture, Pervasive Multimedia Overlay Network (PMON), connecting Jini networks for media sharing and streaming service, is developed. This overall structure enhances pervasive multimedia for mobile devices. © 2004 IEEE.
