Biography

I was born and grew up in Taiwan. Prior to joining HKU in 2011, I was an undergraduate student at National Taiwan University, a Ph.D. student at University of California- Berkeley and a postdoc at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. I am a geochemist specializing in 40Ar/39Ar geochronology. My work is centered around three fundamental research themes: (1) time scales of biological evolution and mass extinction events, (2) global climate change throughout Earth’s history, and (3) natural hazards.
